Uphold core values of NSCDC – CG urges 177 newly recruited officers

 Dr Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday urged the newly recruited officers to uphold the core values of the Corps, emphasising integrity and respect for human rights.
Audi made the call during the passing out ceremony for 177 newly recruited officers for 2023, after five months intensive training in Kano State.
The commandant general was represented by the NSCDC Zonal Commander Zone N Kano, ACG Sani Ado-Dankaka.
A passing out parade of the newly recruited personnel also held in commemoration of International Civil Defence Day .
The Civil Defence Day has the theme “Honour Heroes and Promote Saftey Skills”
He also urged the new recruits to always uphold the core values of integrity, dedication and discipline associated with the corps.
He commended the Kano State Government for the assistance and continued support to the corps in  the state.
” I will like to seize this opportunity to condole the families of our brave officers who lost their lives in active services trying to save the
Iives and properties of our citizens” Audi said
In his remarks, the NSCDC Kano State Commandant, Mr Mohammed Lawal-Falala, charged the newly personnel to embrace their responsibility
with humility and dedication.
“Serve with honor, sacrifice, courage, and above all, serve with integrity”
” International Civil Defence Day, observed on March 1, every year, is to raise awareness about the importance of civil protection and emergency preparedness.
“On this day, we honour our fallen heroes, promote safety skills and highlight the
critical role that Civil Defence plays in protecting citizens from natural and man-made disasters”
He commended NSCDC Commandant General, Kano State government and other sister security agencies for their unrelenting support in carrying out the corps core mandate.
Also speaking, Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf, said the Kano government remained committed to assisting the NSCDC and other security agencies with necessary facilities in the discharge of their duties.
Kabir-Yusuf charged the newly recruited personnel to be committed and embrace their duties with utmost professionalism, courage and deligence.
He commended  efforts of NSCDC in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Communities from natural disasters,conflicts and protection of critical national assests and infrastructure.
The ceremony was attended by heads of security agencies, amongst  other stakeholders.(NAN)
