Sporting Lagos FC striker, Alukwu promises more goals for club

Sporting Lagos FC goal poacher, Jonathan Alukwu has promised to score more goals to improve the club’s fortune in the league.

Alukwu, former Heartland FC player made the pledge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during the Tech Boys training at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

NAN reports that the Noisy Lagos club had their training at the stadium ahead of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Match Day 18.

Their South-West derby match is against Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan on Jan. 15 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Alukwu, nicknamed ‘Barbie Boy,’ is undoubtedly Sporting Lagos hitman this season alongside his strike partner, Junior Lokosa.

According to Alukwu, his form in front of goals will greatly impact on the fortunes of the club in the league campaign.

“We need more goals and everything have been put in practice during the training. We are training hard and ready for the match on Monday because it is a must win for us.

“We won’t take any chances, so we have been putting in our best during the trainings to ensure that we pick the maximum points.

“We will improve on our goal scoring form before Shooting Stars Football Club comes here. It is a derby match and we know it won’t be easy for both sides, but the pressure is much on us to perform.

“Our fans are expectant and we cannot afford to let them down. On Monday we will win big for them,” he said.

NAN reports that the training on Saturday was supervised by the Coach of the team, Paul Offor and the Technical Adviser, Paul Aigbogun. (NAN)
