ICRC ready to implement any agreements reached by parties on hostages in Gaza Strip

Fatima Sator, Spokeswoman for the the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

said ICRC was ready to implement any agreements reached between the parties in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, Palestinian movement Hamas confirmed that it had agreed with Israel on a four-day truce in the Gaza Strip,
with the cessation of all hostilities and release of 50 Israeli hostages in return for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

“The ICRC is ready to support the implementation of any agreement that could alleviate the fate of the victims of this conflict.

“We are negotiating with the parties to help them implement any humanitarian agreement they may reach. As a neutral mediator,
we do not participate in negotiations and do not make substantive decisions. Our role is to facilitate implementation once the
parties reach an agreement,” Sator said. (Sputnik/NAN)
