NRC to resume two trips on Abuja-Kaduna train Sunday

The Board and Management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation have announced the recommencement of two additional train trips on the Abuja-Kaduna train service.

Recall that in January this year, the PUNCH reported that the Abuja-Kaduna train detailed in Kubwa led to the reduction of trips on the rail corridor.

But a statement on Saturday by the NRC management stated that the train service will resume on Sunday, 4th June 2023.

The NRC apologises to its esteemed passengers for any inconvenience they might have experienced as a result of the temporary reduction in train service. The NRC assures its passengers of their safety with the implementation of certain measures such as social distancing and regular sanitation.

The statement reads, “The Board and Management of Nigerian Railway Corporation NRC is pleased to announce the recommencement of two (2) additional train trips on Abuja-Kaduna Train Service which were suspended.”
“The additional train service Will resume on Sunday 4th June 2023 with the following train trips; AK1 departs IDU at 0945 hrs; KA2 departs RIGASA at 1330 hrs; AK3 departs IDU at 1500 hrs.

“Subsequently from Monday 5th June 2023, the Schedule will be as follows; KA2 will depart RIGASA at 0800 hrs; AK1 will depart IDU at 0945 hrs; KA4 will depart RIGASA at 1330 hrs AK3 will depart IDU at 1500 hrs.

“However, on Wednesdays, only KA2 will depart RIGASA at 0700 hrs and AK3 will depart IDU at 1500 hrs.

The Corporation once again regrets any inconvenience our esteemed passengers may have experienced as a result of the temporary reduction in train service.”
