INEC concludes collation of Presidential poll in Enugu State, transmit same to Abuja

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday, says it has concluded the collation of the presidential poll from the 17 local government areas of Enugu State.

The Enugu State INEC’s Presidential Poll Collation Officer, Prof. Madu Iwe, concluded the collation that lasted for many hours between Sunday and Monday at about 2 p.m. at the INEC’s 2023 Collation of Presidential Election Results in Enugu Centre.

Iwe, who is the Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia, appreciated the electorate for their peaceful disposition and patience during the polls.

He also thanked party agents, the media, security agents and other stakeholders that had one role or the other to play for the success of the presidential poll in the state.

“I must confess that all the stakeholders here at the collation centre have displayed patriotism and patience to go throughout the whole hours of collation,” he said.

Iwe said that the result had been signed by political parties present at the centre which included APC, LP, BP, PRP and NNPP representatives and they also collected a copy of the sum total of the collated result on INEC’s form EC8-D.

He also said that after collation of the result, it would then be taken to the INEC Presidential Election Collation Centre, Abuja.(NAN)
