Etisalat communications has boosted Nigeria education sector, especially the e-learning space for students. The telco did this with the launch of Clique portal, an internet enabled application that offers unlimited access to a wide range of educational materials.
The company said that the idea is to further re-iterate its commitment to the development of the education sector in the country.
Speaking at the launch which held during the week in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria, Matthew Willsher, expressed confidence in the ability of the new educational service to enhance the learning experience of students in primary and secondary schools respectively through an engaging combination of education and fun.
“The product is an innovative service that supports education and learning. It gives both students and parents access to educational materials not just on the tablet but also on any internet enabled-device,” he said.
Speaking further, Willsher added that the initiative highlights the importance the company attaches to quality education as well as its commitment to investing in the education sector through a number of platforms among which include the bespoke Adopt-a-School Programme, Etisalat Telecommunications Engineering Post-graduate Programme (ETEPP), Career Counselling and Merit Awards.
Etisalat Cliqlite was introduced two years ago as the first indigenous educational product on a tablet by any telecommunication firm to improve the learning experience of students. It offers a bouquet of NERDC- approved education materials such as text books and instructional lessons on different subjects, past questions from JAMB, SSCE and IGCSE and interactive games that students and parents can use together to make learning fun.
Offering more insights on the portal, Ifeoluwa Oyeyipo, Manager, Teen Segment, explained that Cliqlite Portal was borne out of the need to expand the access scope of the educational product to millions of children and students.
“Cliqlite has been a huge break with testimonials of success among students. We wanted to expand the scope to enable millions of students who have other internet-enabled devices access the product and enrich their learning experience. By this, we are using what they love to give them what they need which is quality education,” she said.
The Etisalat Cliqlite Portal is aimed at making learning fun through the availability of unique learning materials, which can be accessed through any internet enabled device by customers and potential customers on the Etisalat network.
The Cliqlite Portal is designed with different attractive features and benefits that appeal to different grades of users. Its benefits include free birthday reward and 100% bonus on monthly data purchase from 200MB to 10GB with extra 100% bonus to browse.
