Police forces across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain raided residential and commercial properties early Thursday morning in a coordinated operation, targeting organised drug crime.
A total of 32 properties were searched and 11 arrest warrants executed.
The office for the prosecution of organised crime in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and local police in Bonn said in a statement that one person was temporarily detained too.
The operation primarily targeted the area around Cologne and Bonn in western Germany, the statement noted.
It indicated that “investigations are ongoing, as the raids are part of preliminary inquiry into suspected drug trafficking involving significant quantities.”
The goal of the operation is to secure evidence and assets related to alleged criminal activities, the statement added. (dpa/NAN)
