Police in north Afghanistan said it has discovered arms and ammunition including RPG-7 in Sari Pul province, Din Mohammad Nazari, an official, said on Wednesday.
The contraband included four pieces of AKM, a machine gun, an RPG-7 rocket launcher and a U.S.-made M16 assault rifle.
The spokesperson of the provincial police said that the contraband was recovered during a series of operations in parts of Sari Pul province a couple of days ago.
According to the official, thousands of bullets and projectiles were also recovered during the operations.
In a similar crackdown, the police also discovered arms and ammunition in east Afghanistan’s Panjshir Province. (Xinhua/NAN)
