Leading pharmaceutical firm, HealthPlus, on Tuesday December 7, 2021 unveiled Nigeria’s first ePharmacy, a platform that enables customers get expert advice from the comfort of their homes.
The launch took place at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Unveiling the e-Pharmacy platform, HealthPlus Head, Business Development, Nnenna Emenyonu, said: “With the unveiling of this innovative platform, Nigerians can book a video consultation, speak with a pharmacist, speak with a doctor, book a test and speak with a beautician.”
This, according to her, is made possible due to HealthPlus’ collaboration with companies such as MeCure (for tests), Jumia, Konga and Quick (for prompt delivery), and certified medical doctors.
She explained that, from the website, Nigerians can purchase products, over the counter (OTC) medicines and beauty products and get their delivery same day, if purchased before 2pm, but will get their deliveries the next day if purchased after 2pm.
Ms Emenyonu however stressed that for purchase of prescription drugs, patients would be required to upload their prescriptions from a certified/registered medical doctor.
“Nigerians in diaspora who have aged family members can actually access their site, make purchase and have the products delivered to their family in the rural areas or anywhere nationwide,” she said.
“We are not doctors, so we don’t diagnose, we only prescribe. However, you can access a qualified doctor from our website,” she further said.
There was a practical session where participants were shown how to log in to the website and engage with HealthPlus. The website is https://healthplusnigeria.com
Other speakers at the event included Mr Chidi Okoro, Chief Transformation Officer, Ernest Eguasa, Chief Financial Officer, Elizabeth Enajeroh, Head Business Growth, Emmanuel Ogundimiyi, Head Retail Operations; and Pharm. Aisha.
