British Airways moves to pacify victims of cancelled flights due to COVID-19

The flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, British Airways (BA)  has rolled out measures to assuaged travelers that have been hurt one way or the other especially those whose flight bookings were cancelled as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Information on the company’s website gives the directives to customers as follows, “If your flight has been cancelled you can claim a voucher to the value of your booking. Your voucher will be valid for travel until 30 April 2022 and can be used as payment, or part payment, for a future booking.

“Your new trip booked with your voucher must be fully completed by 30 April 2022 (departure and return). You will receive your voucher by email within seven days of your application.

“If you do not wish to rebook or claim your voucher, you can contact us or from outside the UK, to discuss your refund options. If you are due to travel between now and 31 July 2020 you can claim a voucher to the value of your booking, valid for travel until 30 April 2022. Vouchers can be used as payment, or part payment, for a future booking. Your new trip booked with your voucher must be fully completed by 30 April 2022 (departure and return). You will receive your voucher by email within seven days of your application.

“If you want to change the dates of your booking, for bookings made from 3 March until 31 July 2020 on journeys that are due to have been completed by 31 December 2020, go to Manage My Booking to change your dates. We’ve waived our change booking fee so you will not be charged, although you will need to pay any difference in fare. If you want to change the destination and the dates of your booking

“For bookings made from 3 March until 31 July 2020 on journeys that are due to have been completed by 31 December 2020, please complete the online voucher form to change both your destination and dates. We will cancel your booking on your behalf and email you a voucher to the value of your booking, valid until 30 April 2022.

“Vouchers can be used as payment, or part payment, for a future booking. Your new trip booked using a voucher must be fully completed by 30 April 2022 (departure and return). You will receive your voucher by email within seven days of your application.

“If your flight was cancelled and you do not wish to rebook or claim a voucher, please contact us  to discuss your refund options. Call volumes are extremely high at the moment due to the unprecedented circumstances so please bear with us if it takes some time for us to help with your booking,” the company said, among other measures

British Airways is the second largest airline in the United Kingdom, based on fleet size and passengers carried, behind easyJet.
