Minister of Finance, Zainab Shamsunna Ahmad, has disclosed of the Federal Government’s decision resolution to suspend the payment of February salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yet to enrol in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel System (IPPIS).
She made the disclosure at the opening of a management retreat for treasury directors of finance and accounts as well as directors of internal audit organised by the office of the Accountant General of Federation yesterday in Kano.
Although the varsity teachers have consistently opposed the initiative, the minister, however, revealed that about 50 per cent of ASUU members had registered keyed into the project. Guardian
