Port Harcourt International Airport Reopened For Operations

Following a skidding incident yesterday involving an Air Peace flight with registration number 5N BRN, flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt, the Port Harcourt International Airport runway has been cleared and the airport is now reopened for normal flight operations.

A press statement signed by Yakubu Henrietta, General Manager Corporate Affairs Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said “The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has issued a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) to that effect in line with standards and recommended practice.”

The Skidding incident occurred during a heavy downpour at the airport.  According to FAAN, “There were no casualties as all 87 passengers and 6 crew members on board the flight were safely evacuated.”
