Tender purchases took several West African oil cargoes, and some Angolan oil traded via spot, but the market was subdued overall.
* Angola’s CLOV was expected to sail to Taiwan following its latest tender to buy oil, traders said.
* Total had also sold spot cargoes of Pazflor and Dalia to other eastern buyers, traders said.
* Angolan state oil company Sonangol had cut its offers for several grades, including Girassol, Sangos and Olombendo, by 20 cents.
* It was offering Girassol at $1 per barrel above dated Brent, down from dated plus $1.20, Olombendo at dated Brent plus $1.20, down from plus $1.40, and Sangos at a 60 cent discount, compared with the original 40 cent discount.
* The company was also offering two Dalia at dated Brent minus $1.50 per barrel and Hungo at a 40 cent discount.
* Healthy supply of oil in the Atlantic Basin continued to weigh on premiums in Europe and, to a less extent, the United States, which consume some Nigerian barrels.
* U.S. oil exports hit a record 2.3 million bpd last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) data. * The high level of U.S. exports have already weighed on premiums.
* But Brent’s premium to Dubai crude DUB-EFS-1M was also limiting arbitrage to Asia by making Atlantic Basin oil more expensive compared with eastern crudes.
TENDERS
* Total had won a tender to supply Taiwan’s CPC with crude oil. Traders said the company would supply CPC with a June-loading cargo of CLOV and one other cargo of unspecified grade.
* HPLC awarded its tender to buy oil to Chevron, possibly with Escravos, but further details and the grades were not immediately clear.
* A tender from Uruguay’s ANCAP for 1 million barrels of oil delivered July 3-7 closes overnight.
India’s IOC and MRPL were also running tenders to buy oil. * Indonesia’s Pertamina had a quarterly tender buy up to 6 million barrels of oil for delivery from July to September. Reute
